At the corner of 11th Street and Grand Ave stand Elleven South, but at the corner of innovation and design is where Elleven really stands.  The 13-story, 180 residential unit building was the innovator of softloft, where exposed concrete and modern finishes mingle in a raw design.  In addition, what sets Elleven South apart is he commitment to the betterment of the LA environment.  Elleven South is the first green building (but not the last by any means) in Downtown Los Angeles, complete with a LEED certificate. 

This is exemplified by tall windows that let light in to lessen the need for artificial lamp light, but treated to cut down on cooling costs.  The bathrooms are fixed with dual-flush toilets and low flow shower heads and toilets.  Natural fiber carpets line the floors and all transportation of the materials to the construction site was done efficiently.
