Higgins BuildingImage The Higgins Building is 10-story landmark at 2nd & Main.  The Higgins Building Lofts were built in 1910 by AC Martin as the first fire and earthquake proof building in Downtown Los Angeles.  This historic building is now home to 135 market-rate apartment units.  As a loft community,  the Higgins Building is decorated in the "Beaux-arts" style and has many of the original fixtures, including "iron cage" elevators, marble staircases and iron doors.  But the beauty does not stop in the entry way.  

 

In the unit themselves is where one can see new meet historic in a perfect blend.  The units offer 10' ceilings with large windows allowing for bright light to spill into the brand new, state of the art kitchens.  The kitchens are completed with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.
